ABOUT US

Ben grew up in Plymouth, MN & played high school hockey at Shattuck St.

Mary's. After an outstanding senior campaign leading the Shattuck Boys Prep team to a National Title, he was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the 2007 NHL Draft.

He went on to play four seasons for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux.  He was voted Most Improved Player by his teammates following his freshmen season. Hard work, discipline, and integrity helped him lead the Fighting Sioux to two WCHA regular season titles & three consecutive WCHA Final Five Championships.

After spending time with three NHL organizations (Ottawa, Pittsburgh, & Vancouver) he played over seas for 11 seasons, primarily in the top league in Finland. The same league that produced NHL stars like Barkov, Rantanen, Aho, & Heiskanen. Ben retired this spring after winning a championship with the Finnish club Jokerit.

Ben has a passion for teaching the game of hockey on a fundamental level to the next generation of hockey players, doing so each summer for the past 10 years. Blood Hockey was founded on three defining principles: hard work, professionalism, & integrity. Blood Hockey camps provide players with a professional atmosphere to work & learn how to play the game at a high level with exceptional fundamental skills.

Ben lives in Hamel, MN with his wife Hali, & their two young kids, Jet & June.
